PENJELASAN DAN CONTOH SIMPLE SENTENCE, COMPOUND SENTENCE, 
DAN COMPLEX SENTENCE.

Simple Sentence

    Simple Sentence merupakan kalimat yang sederhana dan gampang untuk dibuat. Kalimat ini hanya terdiri dari satu klausa dimana hanya menampung subjek dan juga predikat.

    Pada dasarnya, Simple sentence  memiliki rumus seperti ini :

Subject + Verb + Complement / Object

    Dibawah contoh penggunaan rumus diatas :

    - Budi is a clever man.

    - Tiana looks pretty in her dress.

    - I watched comedy yesterday.

    - I bought popcorn.

Compound Sentence

    Compound sentence merupakan kalimat yang terdiri dari dua kalimat sederhana (Simple Sentence). Hal ini dapat terjadi jika dua kalimat sederhana tersebut disisipkan coordinate conjunction (penghubung) diantaranya.

    Coordinate conjunction terdiri dari for, and, nor but, or, yet, so.

Rumus dari  compound sentence ini adalah :

Subject + Verb + Object / Complement + Coordinate Conjunction + Subject + Verb + Object / Complement.

Contoh dari penggunaan rumus compound sentence adalah :

    - Lina likes cakes but her husband prefers chips.

    - She did not go to the mall today for she was scared of coronavirus.

    - Bebby loves Dua Lipa and she is going to watch Dua Lipa's concert tomorrow.

    - I want to watch a movie yet i do not know what movie to watch.

Complex Sentence

    Complex sentence merupakan kalimat yang terdiri dari dua klausa. Dua klausa yang selalu ada dalam complex sentence adalah main/ independent clause (induk kalimat) dan dependent clause (anak kalimat).

    Berbeda dengan compound sentence, complex sentence digabungkan dengan subordinate conjunction atau subordinate conjunction.

    Subordinate conjunction terdiri dari before, after, while, when, in order to, although, even though, whenever, wherever, even if, as if, dan lain-lain.

Rumus dari complex sentence :

Independent Clause + Conjunction + Dependent Clause.

Atau

Conjunction + Dependent Clause + Independent Clause.

contoh penggunaan rumus complex sentence :

    - I will wait for him until he comes home.

    - Before you apologize, you must acknowledge that what you did was wrong.

    - Whenever i feel hurt, I am going to cry.

    - You have to respect me since I am older than you.
